<p>(Bexley, OH) &#8211; Nancy Segal, the radio show host of Fun with Phoetics will have a guest on October 15<sup>th</sup>.  “Fun with Phoetics” is a weekly show that airs at 1pm on Saturdays on Bexley Radio FM 102.1.  Darrah Courter is a Phoetics client of Nancy’s.</p>
<p>Fun with Pheotics uses Nancy’s trademarked techniques which use biological, chemical, physical and intuitive energies that combine to bring a woman&#8217;s truths into the light. Those truths are preserved in her childhood photographs.  The Fun with Phoetics show is a lively discussion that dives into the truths discovered via photographs.  Darrah and Nancy will discuss the amazing insight that occurred during a session.</p>
<p>“I was amazed how writing about a picture with my non-dominate hand could draw out so many feelings and observations about a snap-shot of my life. We found that there were more observations about what was NOT in the picture.  Phoetics is pretty amazing,” noted Darrah.</p>
<p>Nancy Segal is an Author and Speaker.  She created Phoetics from techniques that she created to help her discover her own female truth.  Her website is <a title="Nancy's Truth" href="http://www.nancystruth.com" target="_blank">http://www.nancystruth.com </a>where she shares the oldest story, never told.</p>
<p>Non-profit WCRX Bexley Public Radio (<a title="WCRX" href="http://www.wcrxlp.com" target="_blank">http://www.wcrxlp.com</a>) is a low-power FM station that has broadcast at 102.1 and 98.3.   The stations focuses on Community news, gardening tips, stock market reports and school debates, all delivered over radio by volunteers.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>At Rippling Effect, We understand that you need to take care of yourself first.  If you don&#8217;t have a Balance in your life, then it doesn&#8217;t matter how much Marketing you do to help grow your business.  Eventually you will have fatigue or health issues and won&#8217;t be able to service your clients to the best of your ability.  Therefore we asked Cheryl Cullison, a certified Health Coach to give us some advice on Balancing our lives.  Hope you enjoy!</p>
<p>Is your health interfering with your business? Do you find it difficult to concentrate and focus on all of the things you need to accomplish? Are you constantly reaching for coffee and sweets to get you through your day? Many people do not realize that the way they take care of themselves can affect how they perform at work.</p>
<p>When you make yourself a priority it can produce many wonderful benefits. Some of the benefits that may occur are better health, more energy, higher level of confidence and increased concentration. Just think about how this may change your career.</p>
<p>Taking care of yourself does not have to be difficult. Here are a few ideas to get you started.</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Sleep </strong>-<strong> </strong>Getting enough sleep is important. Just think how much more you could accomplish if you woke up each day feeling rested, focused and energetic.</li>
<li><strong>Laugh</strong> &#8211; Next time you feel overwhelmed by all that needs to get done see if a healthy dose of laughter helps you to relax and regain your focus.</li>
<li><strong>Treat Yourself</strong> &#8211; It does not have to cost a lot of money. It could be anything from taking a bath, listening to some soft music or watching your favorite movie.</li>
<li><strong>Stop Trying to be Perfect </strong>-<strong> </strong>Trying to be perfect can be very draining. No one is perfect. In my opinion it is better to do the best you can and ask for help when you need it.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One basic concept in marketing or sales is to know your target market, yet it seems that some people forget that in Internet Marketing and they want to capture everybody.  They want more followers, more “likes”, more web traffic, but does that truly relate to more sales?  Let’s go back to basics and focus on target market.</p>
<p>You need to define who your target market is. Some things to consider:</p>
<p>1)      Are you selling to consumers or businesses? This is important so that you know you are sending your message out to the correct people. For example, if you are selling to businesses, most likely you will want to use a platform like LinkedIn.  That’s where the professionals are.  But if you are consumer based, you might want to market on FaceBook.</p>
<p>2)      What are their ages? Yes, each Social Media platform attracts different users.  As reported by Pingdom.com in 2010:</p>
<ul>
<li>Younger users are drawn to Bebo or Myspace.</li>
<li>Classmates has the highest concentration of users 65+.</li>
<li>LinkedIn user is around 44 years old</li>
<li>FaceBook users are about 37 years old</li>
<li>Twitter draws the 39 year old</li>
</ul>
<p>3)      What about Gender?  Yes – Gender makes a difference as well!  For example, women dominate FaceBook and like making connections where LinkedIn draws the men where they can elevate their status.</p>
<p>4)      Do you have a store front? If so – make SURE you claim your Google Places, Yahoo Local, MerchantCircle, FourSquare, Yelp just to start.  Remember now days, people are finding businesses through mobile applications while they are on the move.  Make sure your consumers can find you, especially when they are out and about!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There is a plethora of Social Media articles in various industries.  I have done presentation to Accounting to Remodeling Associations.  The hot topic is across the Board “How to Leverage Social Media”.</p>
<p>1<sup>st</sup> – What is Social Media?  According to Wikipedia, “<strong>Social media</strong> are <a title="Media (communication)" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_%28communication%29">media</a> for <a title="Social interaction" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_interaction">social interaction</a>, using highly accessible and scalable <a title="Publishing" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publishing">publishing</a> techniques. Social media use <a title="Web-based technologies" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web-based_technologies">web-based technologies</a> to turn communication into interactive dialogue.”</p>
<p>So basically – being Social or using Media is not new.  What’s new is that platform we are engaging on.  This web-based type of media causes a whole new way of Marketing.</p>
<p>So think of this.  Each person (consumer or business) that is using Social Media has created a Sphere of Influence.  Their voice can be shared – instantly.  People just need basic skills to share information over the web.  And nobody is controlling what they say.</p>
<p>So the conversation is going on with or without you – which is good or bad.  Have you ever done a Google search and found your name in a place you had no idea about?  Why not participate and give your customers something to talk about – you!</p>
<p>How do you do this?  Well you need to make sure you engage with your community.</p>
<p>1)      Share information that will help your community become better consumers.  This also shows off YOUR expertise!</p>
<p>2)      Stay active.  You don’t know when your community is online, so you need to make sure you are in front of them when they are there.  But know the frequency expectation of the platform you are on.  Twitter users expect more updates than Facebook.  You don’t want to annoy your community where they “turn you out”</p>
<p>3)      Be diverse in your updates.  Don’t just do the same updates over and over.  Mix it up with fresh content, various medias (ie pictures, videos)</p>
<p>4)      Respond to your community!!  If they make a comment – good or bad – respond to them!</p>
<p>I hope this will help you start thinking about how &amp; why to use Social Media.</p>

<p>Focus on aligning with Strategic Partners to grow client base 25%.</p>
<p>After analyzing current client base, focus on marketing Rippling Effect to Small Business Owners.</p></blockquote>
<blockquote><p>Having just completed our 90 day plan for Local Internet Leads I can tell you it was a very rewarding exercise.</p>
<p>Here is what we accomplished:</p>
<ol>
<li>Current      and Projected KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) – we reviewed our core      KPI’s like revenue, number of clients, operating efficiency (in our case      the number of days to launch a new client), etc. For each KPI we have a      current status and then a target for 90 days time</li>
<li>Priorities      – we produced a list of 9 top priorities for the first quarter that mainly      fall into 3 major areas – sales, operations and customer service. Each      priority has one person that has overall responsibility for making sure      that it is achieved.</li>
<li>We      then worked through the top 4 priorities and came up with a detailed plan      for each. These plans consisted on anywhere from 6 – 14 tasks that need to      be executed. Each task has a person responsible and a deadline date.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So when you look at somebody&#8217;s LinkedIn Profile, what&#8217;s the first few things you see before your scroll down?  Well I see their quick statistics (Name, Rank, Serial Number&#8230;) But seriously &#8211; you don&#8217;t get to really &#8220;know&#8221; the person until you see the Summary Statement.  This is where you can shine!  It&#8217;s at the top where folks don&#8217;t have to scroll down to read.  Let&#8217;s face it, people are lazy and won&#8217;t scroll down to read a lengthy profile.</p>
<p>LinkedIn even suggests that you add your &#8220;Professional Experience and Goals&#8221; in this area.  What if we use this area to help people understand WHY they want to do business with you or Hire YOU!</p>
<p>Have you ever heard that you should sell the benefit versus the features of your product?  The popular example this that you really don&#8217;t sell the torque of a drill, but actually a hole.  So why don&#8217;t we take this premise with LinkedIn?</p>
<p>I challenge you to review your Summary and see if you are sharing the Benefits of doing business with you.  Basically, you need to show how YOU can fix a need that somebody else has.  If they want to see the Features of how you can do that &#8211; it&#8217;s listed under your Experiences (in which people who are interested in you will scroll down to read).</p>
<p>Then I challenge you to have a peer review your profile and let you know what they think.  Do they understand in a few sentences what you are offering and how you can help others?</p>
<p>These simple steps will make your profile more powerful, add to your expertise and  help you become more successful!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I LOVE LinkedIn and really don&#8217;t waste my time searching for services.  Why is that?  Well people LOVE to give referrals and to help out other professionals.</p>
<p>So one day, I needed a Chimney Sweep for my house.  I sent an Inbox message to a Geographically targeted group of my LinkedIn network.  Within minutes, I had several suggestions of Chimney Sweeps I could use.  In addition to referrals &#8211; there were actually &#8220;raving fans&#8221; of the companies (people who spoke highly of their service from a personal viewpoint).  It took minimal effort on my behalf and knew that I would be getting excellent recommendations.</p>
<p>I have used this technique to find Doctors, CPA, Handy Men, IT Services, Apartments for my friends, etc.</p>
<p>Why does this work?  Well people LOVE helping other professionals out.  I mean &#8211; what&#8217;s a better gift than providing more business for their contacts.</p>
<p>What I do watch out for ~ Referral Groups.  Just because somebody pays money to be a part of a referral group, does not mean they provide good service.  In fact, I sometime find that members get complacent and might not provide the best service.  In addition, I know that members get &#8220;credit&#8221; or are required to provide a certain number of referrals to stay in good standing within their referral group.  So I usually qualify my request, asking for people that they have personally hired.</p>
